Clearing Out a Lifetime of Memories Without the Headache
The morning sun glinted off decades of glass jars stacked in the garage of a 1980s bungalow near Elmwood Park. The homeowner was preparing to downsize after losing her husband, and the weight of sorting through 40 years of belongings felt overwhelming. Every box opened brought back memories—but also dust, old paint cans, and broken furniture that couldn’t go in regular trash. With narrow side yards and tight alley access common in Dahlman, she worried a big roll-off would damage her driveway or block her neighbor’s view.
We brought a compact 12-yard container that fit cleanly in her driveway without spilling onto the street. Our crew arrived early, placed protective mats under the wheels, and worked quietly to load bulky items without disturbing the block. Within two hours, the garage was empty and swept, and the dumpster was gone before her book club arrived that afternoon. She kept only what truly mattered—and donated the rest with peace of mind.
They handled everything with such care—I didn’t have to lift a box or worry about a thing.
